I know that the squawking runway bird is no more. But still, I want to send him a thank you note.
Mark and I boarded a Dreamliner on March 31st on our way to Israel. Our flight wasn’t made of dreams. We had to make an emergency landing in Chicago because of a bird strike that cracked the cockpit windshield. Pilots said it had worsened upon leveling off at 38,000 feet. We descended rapidly. Twenty two minutes later we landed safely but to the flashing lights of emergency vehicles. The carbon light craft felt more of a nightmare-liner then. The situation delayed our arrival into Tel Aviv for more than 48 hours. We were not happy.
Time changes many perspectives doesn’t it?
Grandude aka Mark Tedder flies to our Lucy girl today. His flight is free. United, no doubt in order to avoid lawsuits, threw air miles at their customers in hopes it would calm disgruntled fliers. We both have a total of three domestic flights that will carry these worried grandparents to their eight year old Arkansas princess. She is sick, very sick.
Thank you bird. Your feathery sacrifice was noble.

Thank you Jesus…for crappy things that happen to us (ASHES) and the (BEAUTY) you bring in exchange for those ashes…free flights to love on and be with The Princess! #ilovelucy
This one, again, is too hard to throw the red heart up. Surely the first few months are the worst, I know this is killing Daniel and Kayla. Not to mention you and Mark, I am truly so saddened and pray about this as your extended family does. We all love you both and especially stress on our little Lucy.
